A piece of land outside Ilbesheim to build a house, some vineyards, land and livestock? The success story of the winery began so unspectacularly in 1948. Hilda and Willi Dennhart, together with their daughter Ella and her husband Hugo Leiner, founded the winery as a barrel wine business after the Second World War. In the 1970s, their daughter Lieselotte decided to bottle the wine that was now being produced and market it herself. Her husband Robert Kranz broke off his original training and became an apprentice winemaker. Together they successfully led the winery into the next generation. Over time, new vineyards, wine cellars, new technical equipment and customers all over Germany were added - and two sons, Boris and Kai.
Together with his wife Kerstin, Boris Kranz is now running the winery in the 4th generation. In 2012 it was accepted into the VDP (Association of German Pradikat Wineries).
