Packaging information for packages from GOURMET VERSAND
Standard - cardboard packaging
For goods and items that do not require special transport packaging, we ship with corrugated cardboard boxes. The remaining free space is filled with food-grade natural corn filling material.
The natural filling material is odorless and has no effect on the goods protected with it. It does not contain any harmful decomposition products and does not cause any dangerous reactions. You can dispose of these corn flips with household waste, the organic waste bin or in the compost.

Natural filling material Our packaging filling material is made of environmentally friendly corn natural filling material.
If your child or pet swallows these flips when unpacking the goods, this is not a problem as long as your child or pet is not allergic to wheat / corn.
Special packaging for fresh and frozen products
For fresh or frozen products, we use insulated boxes with a strong Styrofoam layer. Cold packs or dry ice are used for cooling.
Additionally, these products are packaged with bubble wrap or foam sleeves. This ensures protection during transport and the cold packs/dry ice cannot get directly to the product and influence its quality.
The remaining storage space is padded with filling material.
The cold packs or dry ice ensure a temperature in the polystyrene box of at least 36 hours as required by the HACCP regulation.

Note on dry ice and frozen products
If there is still dry ice in the package, please be careful not to touch the dry ice directly when unpacking. Remove your goods and leave the dry ice in the package. Place the box in a well-ventilated area and allow the dry ice inside to evaporate. If you must handle the dry ice, do so only with gloves and safety glasses. Dry ice has a temperature of -78A°C. If dry ice comes into contact with skin for several seconds, painful cold burns can occur. Keep out of the reach of children and animals.

After you have received the frozen products, you must store them in a freezer with a storage temperature of at least -18° Celsius for further storage.
