    The almonds processed by our producer in Spain for our RHEIN-BACK almond preparations come exclusively from the USA (California), whereby only sweet almonds are processed. The risk of mixing with bitter almonds is virtually eliminated with almonds of American origin.

  • Harvest in California

    Depending on the weather, growing area and variety, the almond harvest begins in August / September and lasts until October. The new harvest will then be available in Germany from around November.
    After the pulp has dried, the almonds are harvested from the trees using shaking machines and picked up from the ground by machine after about a week of drying. The flesh remaining on the fruit is cut off and later used as animal feed. The almond shells are cracked open and blown away in special machines. First of all, the almonds are sorted according to different calibers and then shell fragments, twigs, stones and metal particles are sorted out. Now the tonsils are calibrated again, visually inspected for damage and checked again for foreign bodies. The goods are then packaged accordingly and shipped.
