Pinot Blanc from vineyards in the municipalities of Wawern and Wiltingen with a dry taste profile, deep soils weathered from slate with proportions of sand, limestone and quartz porphyry of volcanic origin. A great Burgundy from the slate of the Saar? Van Volxem has long struggled to accept any grape variety other than Riesling. But the tradition of being the first Pinot Blanc winery on the Saar has been continued and a completely new interpretation of this classic grape variety has been created with its own style of a moderate-alcohol, perfect accompaniment to food. It never ceases to amaze you what happens when old Burgundy vines and perfect climatic conditions meet excellent slate slopes. Tiny small yields of golden Burgundy berries create a full-bodied, silky wine that unfolds on the palate a sea of aromas of ripe exotic fruits, animating spring blossoms and the finest notes of precious wood. With its moderate acidity, it is a great accompaniment not only to Provençal cuisine.
