The Chateau Le Bourdieu winery in the Medoc wine-growing region is classified as Cru Bourgeois. The vineyard soils consist of pebble formations with sand and clay and are half planted with Cabernet Sauvignon and half Merlot. The chateau is located near the Gironde estuary. Thanks to the special climate, the river ensures ideal growing conditions for the grapes and thus the quality of the wine. These are aged for 12 months in 80% new barriques. The style of the wine is - also due to the relatively high Merlot content for Medoc - very soft, lush and seductively fruity, without denying its Medoc coreness.
