The Elbling is the oldest grape variety in Germany and is at home in the Upper Moselle. The grape produces uncomplicated, refreshing and finely spiced wines. Before the word Riesling even existed, the Romans had already cultivated Elbling as Alba Romana there and enjoyed the results of the pressing with joy. The Elbling is dry, has a relatively low alcohol content and a pleasant acidity. This makes it very tasty and uncomplicated. It smells wonderfully of green apple and citrus. All kinds of fish dishes, spicy meat, pasta and rice dishes are recommended for the Elbling. Solo he is a nice companion for social gatherings with family and friends.
