2021 Chardonnay Johanniskreuz, dry, 13% vol., Schneider

Yellow fruits on the nose, floral notes, light toast note. The taste is mineral, beautifully fruity, full-bodied and elegant. Johanniskreuz is considered the `birthplace of the Palatinate Forest and lies on a mountain saddle between Hammertal and Schwarzbach. On this historic site, the oak trees were felled at an age of 250-300 years for the casks (1,200 liters) and made in the traditional way. These now serve as storage for some of Schneider`s best Chardonnay batches. The expansion took place in 1200 liter barrels.
