    About Us

    Domenica Bertolusso and Beppe Montanaro, the founders of the company, began their experiences in the truffle world in 1968 and thus began to market the fresh truffles from the Piedmont region.
    During this time, her restaurant Da Beppe, in the heart of ORistorante da Beppef Alba, was considered a landmark by truffle and mushroom lovers and the Michelin Guide. Tartuflanghe was born in 1980 to explore Beppe`s experience and creativity, built through a prestigious formative experience: he was a chef soucier on cruise ships from 1958 to 1966, teacher in the culinary institute, chef in the best restaurants of Piedmontese cuisine and then owner The famous restaurant. The name of the company comes from an intuition of Domenica`s: she joined the Italian word for truffle with the name of the area of origin of this precious tuber, the Langhe area.
    The first speciaSenza-Titolo-2lities with truffles were created to give the opportunity to taste the truffles out of season. Thanks to this insight, the first pasta with truffles in the world was created in the Tartuflanghe laboratory in 1990: Tartufissima, Italian fantasy name meaning the best of truffles. In 1992, it was named Best New Product of the Year at the Summer Fancy Food Show in New York. After the tagliolini with truffles, risotto, polenta and cheese fondue were also prepared. The genuine recipes from Piedmontese traditional cuisine prepared by Beppe have given the company the opportunity to immediately enter the high gastronomic market.
    In 2005, the pastry laboratory was opened - completely restored and expanded in 2011 - for the production of the Tartufi Dolci dAlba, the pralines with the famous chocolate and IGP Piedmont hazelnuts have allowed the company to also enter the high confectionery market. Thanks to the factory expansion works that lasted almost two years, the company has duplicated the area dedicated to production and storage, creating new spaces as a show room and the new tasting room with a professional kitchen. More than 40 million chocolates are produced every year for the Tartuflanghe brand and also for many private brands.
    In recent years, Stefania and Paolo have joined their parents in running the company, inheriting the experience of Domenica and Beppe and inspiring new ideas for the prestigious family tradition.
    For many years the company has been the proud holder of the Eccellenza Artigiana (Artisan Excellence title), awarded by the Piedmont Region for its thirty years of experience in the culinary world.
