Almond trees belong to the rose family. Similarly, almonds are made from marzipan. The marzipan paste is then used to make confectionery and pastries. These blanched almonds are sliced into paper thin slices. They can be sprinkled as decoration on cakes, pies or desserts or roasted with sugar in butter; so they are suitable as a brittle and also as a decoration. Store in the fridge.
