  • The History of Bone Suckin Barbecue - Sauces / Barbecue Sauces and Barbecue Spices

Bone Suckin Barbecue - Sauces - how it all started

Phil Ford, a family man from North Carolina, tried to imitate a barbecue sauce recipe from his mother in 1987. The ingredients included: tomato paste, apple cider vinegar, honey, molasses, mustard, horseradish, lemon juice, onions, garlic, peppers, natural hickory smoke, natural spices and salt. The creations arrived to all his friends. And it was those who encouraged him to bottle his creations and sell them. However, this lasted until 1992, when he merged with his brother and his wife. In November 1992, the first sauces were offered. In 1994, the breakthrough came in selling the Bone Suckin Barbecue sauces. Because at the contest, North Carolina Battle of the Sauces - under 16 sauce makers in March 1994, won the Bone Suckin Barbecue Sauce. The sauce became more and more popular and the company started exporting in the summer of 1994. It is now exported to 80 countries, but the philosophy is still all Bone Suckin

Ingredients: 200 ml Bone Suckin sauce, 1 ciabatta bread, 200 g brie in slices, core 4 nectarines and dice roughly, about 100 g of rocket, 1/4 cup of olive oil, salt and pepper to taste

    Manual:
Preheat the grill before cooking food. In a bowl marinate the nectarines in Bone Suckin sauce and set aside. Take aluminum foil and make a basket to grill the nectarines. Divide the ciabatta bread and coat the insides with olive oil. Cut the brie and put it on both sides of the ciabbata bread. Place the slices of bread on the grill with the brie side up. Put the nectarines in the prepared aluminum basket and on the grill. Grill nectarines on each side for about 3 minutes. The nectarines should be firm and not mushy. Remove the nectarines from the heat and put on bread with the brie. Then top up with rocket, fold the two halves and serve.
