This grindstone is suitable for a coarse grain 240 pre-sanding and for minor repairs of the blade. For the actual sharpening, you continue with a 800-1000 grit. Recommended sanding: Place the stone in water for at least 15 minutes and keep it wet while sanding. The water along with the fine stone abrasion act like a grinding paste, which just allows the grinding process. The knives should be ground at an angle of about 15Â °. Grind only you, because everyone has their own grinding technology.
