Our top quality from Australia - tuber melanosporum EXTRA. Whole deep black truffles in good ripeness, with a surface covered with medium-sized warts and fine white veins in the flesh. The season for these fine winter truffles starts at the end of May and runs until the end of August. In 1997, 13,000 trees (mostly oaks) were planted in Manjimup, in southwest Australia. The soil in this region is roughly the same as that of the truffle areas in France. After 7 years, the roots of the trees were inoculated with truffle spores.
