  • Gernot Leitner winery

The Leitner winery is located 50 km south of Vienna in the wine town of Gols, on the northeast shore of Lake Neusiedl and is run as a family business. With a company size of 10.5 hectares, it is possible to respond optimally to every detail in the vineyard and cellar.
The top priority is quality, optimally selected grapes, which are then brought into the bottle in the cellar, without yeast, enzymes or anything else. Preferably single-variety and from individual soil types. Often only a portion of a site is used, i.e. only the type of soil that characterizes the wine.
The range ranges from light, fruity white wines to strong red wines, with the main focus being on red wines and dry white wines. Sweet wine is also an issue. Every year there are premium wines made from the Riesling variety.
When it comes to white wines, the focus is on the Pinot Blanc variety, which is planted exclusively on the Salzberg. When it comes to red wines, it is the local varieties such as Zweigelt, Blaufrankisch and St. Laurent that we concentrate on. International varieties such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah are also used. The vineyards are located in the best locations such as Altenberg, Salzberg, Ungerberg or Goldberg.

    EVERYONE WORKS TOGETHER.
THE ROOTS BRING THE RAIN FROM THE DEEP LESS,
COMPOST BRINGS LIFE TO THE SOIL,
THE SUN SWEET IN THE GRAPES,
HARVESTED BY HAND, AS ALWAYS, AT THE PEAK OF RIPE.
    EVERYTHING IN BALANCE.
    THE RESULT IS PRECIOUS.
    GLASS FOR GLASS.

  • Judith Beck Winery Austria

The vineyard is the basis of the winemaker`s work. Optimal nutrient supply and functioning soil life are the prerequisites for high-quality grapes. For these reasons, in 2007 we decided to switch to biodynamic viticulture with the help of the expert Dr. Andrew Lorand. In order to keep the vines healthy in a natural way, we rely on greening, conscious care of biodiversity, fertilization with organic humus, manual work and taking the lunar cycles into account in certain work steps.
Our wines are almost exclusively organically grown. This is because some of our vineyards are still in the process of converting from conventional to organic farming. The conversion usually takes 3 years.

Judith doesn`t just live according to her postal address, she actually lives among the vines. This is where her deep relationship with her own vineyards comes from. Her wines are natural, true, genuine and above all authentic. Always more reserved than loud. Always worth a second look. In Judith`s words: Anyone can make international style anywhere. Only I make wines like mine, here and now. And for me that is the most beautiful thing there is. Like my life in the vines.

Judith acquired the skills she needed to take over her father Matthias` winemaking business at the Klosterneuburg wine school and through internships at Cos d EUR Estournel (France), Braida (Italy) and Errazuriz (Chile). She has been responsible for the winery since 2004.
