Pistachios, peeled, dark green, chopped (2-3mm), top quality
Pistachios are related to cashew nuts and are the pits of a stone fruit. The light to dark green nut core is under the beige, hard shell. They are aromatic and slightly sweet in taste. Pistachios are used instead of almonds in the manufacture of pastries, confectionery and chocolates, but are also used as an ingredient in meat fillings and fine sausages.
