Cubeb pepper - Javanese pepper, also called tail pepper / stem pepper
Cubeb pepper is cultivated primarily in Indonesia and some African countries and is not easy to obtain in Europe. It is characterized by dry, woody, camphoraceous, and menthol aromas. The scent is reminiscent of lavender. Very floral, to say the least. After testing, it is not particularly spicy. Grind shortly before use! Also known as Javanese pepper, this spice is ideal for meat and vegetable dishes. The berries can also be used to garnish meat. They are also suitable, whole or ground, as a plate garnish. If you`re feeling daring, combine it with tonka beans and vanilla for a fresh tropical fruit flavor.
