
Kasumi MP - 10 Masterpiece Damask bread knives, 25cm
Kasumi Masterpiece Damascus knives feature a core layer of VG-10 cobalt high-carbon steel. After forging the coveted and aesthetically pleasing Damascus pattern by repeatedly folding the steel layers, the blade is reheated to approximately 800°C and rapidly cooled. This process achieves a Rockwell hardness of 59-60 C and gives the edge its exceptional sharpness. The professional handle is crafted from thermosetting linen-based resin, offering excellent dimensional stability and a secure and comfortable grip. Such a knife should always be hand-washed. Regular sharpening with a combination whetstone is recommended, for example, with K-11 240/1000 grit or, for fine honing and polishing, K-12 3000/8000 grit.
