Fondant (white)
Fondant (French for `melting`) consists of sugar and glucose (candy syrup). The ingredients are cooked and then kneaded vigorously and cooled rapidly until they form a soft paste. This fondant is chewy yet soft and melts easily on the tongue. Fondant is primarily used for coating confectionery, chocolates, and pastries. The desired effect can be achieved by adding essential oils, colorings, or alcohol.
