Erdener Pralat Riesling GG RESERVE Old Vines Dry With its exceptional microclimate, the Erdener Pralat is considered one of the very best vineyards in the Middle Moselle. The 100- to 120-year-old, ungrafted plots are characterized by red, iron-rich slate, formed by 800-degree volcanic activity. Essentially, this is nothing other than oxidized blue slate. The Pralat is an extremely steep, 100% south-facing vineyard site directly on the banks of the Moselle and is surrounded by a massive rock formation. The massive red slate cliffs form a kind of amphitheater, enclosing the 1.6-hectare vineyard, creating a particularly warm and exceptional microclimate.
