2023 Hensel and Gretel white wine cuvee QW, dry, 13% vol., Schneider / Hensel

This wine is a collaboration between two friends and winemakers from the Palatinate region, Thomas Hensel and Markus Schneider. The grapes grow on gravelly, stony soil between the Vorderpfalz plain and the Haardt Mountains. This cuvee is a blend of Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, and Chardonnay, matured in stainless steel tanks, and then aged for 150 days in used oak barrels, giving it a subtle oak influence. On the palate, it is juicy and fresh with a medium body, lovely acidity, and a long finish carried by the subtle oak aromas.
