Soju Grape (grape), Korean brandy, 13% vol., Jinro
What ouzo is to Greeks, and beer to Germans, soju is to Koreans. This mild spirit, however, tastes more like vodka. It`s ideal for cocktails with fruits, juices, and soda. The original has around 20% ABV and is traditionally served chilled with meals, at parties, and gatherings. There are also flavored sojus with fruit juices, such as grape flavor. These have a lower alcohol content of 13% and are better suited for drinking neat. Mixing soju with beer is becoming increasingly popular, typically using one or two shots per bottle of beer. This is called a somaek (soju + maekchu (beer)).
