Champagne Roederer 2017 Vintage Rose, Brut, 12.5% vol.
Salmon pink with brilliant red reflections. Very intense color. Fine, exquisite, dynamic effervescence. A summery, fresh, wonderfully intense bouquet with notes of ripe, juicy yellow fruits (vineyard peaches), slightly tart red berries (currants), and citrus fruits (blood oranges). Upon exposure to air, notes of apricots from Roussillon, reminiscent of jam, emerge. The attack on the palate is flattering, juicy, and concentrated. A saline, chalky freshness follows immediately, ensuring exquisite smoothness. The aromas are reminiscent of ripe, crisp fruit (vineyard peaches, nectarines) and citrus fruits (lemons), which give the wine a lemony, slightly bitter flavor. The soft, delicate effervescence is perfectly blended with a velvety texture. The extremely tasty, wonderfully long finish is almost a bit salty, wonderfully reflecting the dry, chalky soils from which this champagne originates, with a hint of tannins and bitterness. It is characterized by wonderful freshness, wonderful balance, and great lightness. Velvety smooth and salty. 96/100 Falstaff points.
