Panko breadcrumbs - coarse breadcrumbs Mie de Pain
Panko breadcrumbs produce spectacular results when breading meat or vegetables. They are best known as the crust of the Japanese schnitzel variant, tonkatsu. The very large breadcrumbs create a coating similar to cornflakes. The breadcrumbs are made from wheat flour, yeast, shortening, salt, and glucose. Their consistency is comparable to French mie de pain, where only the white part of the bread, and not the crust, is processed into breadcrumbs. Also available in 10 kg bags.
