Cameroon pepper, black, whole
This pepper comes from the Penja Valley in Cameroon in western Africa. The equatorial climate, with a balance of sun and rain, and the fertile soil of volcanic origin favor the cultivation of pepper plants. The harvest quantities are low, so the pepper is very rare and sought after. The smell is reminiscent of softwoods, ground to fresh wood. The pepper sharpness is very abrupt and sharp. The sharpness does not last long, unlike chilies. Black Cameroon pepper flavored meat dishes and correspondingly darker soups and sauces.
