Spice Garden Caraway, ground
Caraway has a rather distinctive aromatic scent and a slightly pungent taste. It is milder than cumin but more intense than dill. Its aroma develops best when the spice is simmered in dishes. In India, it is used to season curries, lentil dishes, and rice. In Eastern Europe and Germany, caraway is traditionally used for meat products, sauerkraut, fish, potato salad, baked goods, and apple compote. In Arabic cuisine, caraway is used to season salads, mechoui (lamb dishes), and meat skewers.
