About 35 gourds have to be processed to get 1 liter of gourd seed oil. The kernels are finely chopped and made into a soft, deep green, sticky but intensely fragrant porridge. Hot water and salt are added to the porridge. The water transports the necessary heat and the salt spits and separates the protein of the kernels from the oil. The core mass is then roasted at 80Â ° -90Â °. so the water evaporates and the egg becomes firm. Now the dark green oil can be pressed out of the core mass, with the heavy pollutants slowly sinking down in a natural way. The intense nutty squash seed oil blends well with soups, beans, egg dishes, pumpkin pesto, salads and desserts such as high-quality vanilla ice cream.
