The seeds of the Kochia Scoparia are traditionally used as a delicacy in Japan and are used for the food Tonburi. The appearance and also the consistency of the cooked and the free from the shells is similar to the real caviar. They are also called caviar of the field. The ready-to-cook seeds are an experience with hearty dishes, eg with fish, tastefully and haptically. The caviar of the field cracks on the palate like caviar beads, its taste is green and reminds a little of artichokes.
