Chateau de Lancyre Winery - Languedoc-Roussillon Wine Region
Located in the AOC area of Pic St. Loup as a sub-region of the Languedoc, the 78 hectares, of which 52 hectares are classified as AOC, are predominantly Syrah and Grenache.
The size of the estate and the quality of its wines make Lancyre one of the region`s most important wineries. The vineyards are situated on geological formations composed of marine and continental deposits, predominantly from the Cretaceous period. The soil consists predominantly of clayey limestone.
The hot days ensure high sugar content and aroma development in the berries. The cool nights provide the necessary acidity to prevent the wines from becoming heavy and alcoholic.
