This rock salt comes from one of Germany`s oldest salt domes. It was formed over 200 million years ago by the evaporation of the Zechstein Sea and lies protected from environmental influences at a depth of 400-750 meters underground. The rock salt is mined using traditional methods, gently ground in traditional mills, and carefully sifted. Accredited institutes monitor its quality. This coarse-grained rock salt is particularly well-suited for use in salt mills.
