Allspice d`Espelette, the French pepper, chilli powder
The only native pepper of France is Pimento, and it thrives in Espelette, near the town of Saint-Jean-de-Luz, where it enjoys ideal climatic conditions: fertile soil and plenty of warmth. Pimento is piquant, but not as hot as cayenne. It`s perfect with omelets, grilled meats, salads, fish, or pizza.
