Cloves, ground

Cloves are the dried flower buds of the clove tree. They look like small nails, are aromatic, pungent, and have a clove-like fragrance. Ground cloves are used as a flavoring ingredient for sausages, pies, desserts, or for fruits preserved in alcohol and mulled wine.
