It all started with the renovation of Michaela Schaffrath`s small Bremen townhouse, which she inherited from her grandmother Martha. Eventually, the attic also needed clearing out. Among old furniture, suitcases, and boxes, she found a yellowed slip of paper with faded handwriting: Grandma Martha`s eggnog recipe! That`s how the vanilla eggnog was born. She envisioned it as particularly creamy with a delicious melt-in-your-mouth texture. Just like Grandma Martha`s eggnog! This is achieved through a high egg content, which also imparts the intense flavor, as well as select ingredients paired with a tart, fruity sea buckthorn note. And she`s sure Grandma Martha would smile and hide the sea buckthorn recipe in the attic, too. Only eggs from certified farms are used for the eggnog. High-quality ingredients are lovingly processed according to Grandma Martha`s family recipe, using the highest level of craftsmanship, by a traditional distillery. Since `Eierei` is made without additives, you might notice small golden specks in the liqueur, which will re-mix with the egg liqueur when you shake the bottle.
