2024 Pinot Blanc QW, dry, 12.5% vol., Van Volxem

Pinot Blanc from vineyards in the villages of Wawern and Wiltingen, with a dry flavor profile, deep, weathered slate soils containing sand, limestone, and quartz porphyry of volcanic origin. A great Pinot Blanc from the Saar slate? Van Volxem long resisted accepting any grape variety other than Riesling. But they continued their tradition of being the first Pinot Blanc winery on the Saar, creating a completely new interpretation of this classic grape variety with their own style: a moderately alcoholic, perfect food companion. It never ceases to amaze what happens when old Pinot Blanc vines and perfect climatic conditions meet excellent steep slate slopes. Tiny yields of golden Pinot Blanc grapes produce a full-bodied, silky wine that unfolds a sea of aromas on the palate: ripe exotic fruits, vibrant spring blossoms, and the finest notes of precious wood. With its moderate acidity, it`s a great accompaniment not only to Provencal cuisine.
