2023 Steingrube Chardonnay QW, dry, 13% vol., Wittmann, organic

The Westhofener Steingrube VDP.ERSTE LAGE vineyard is located directly above the village center, connecting the parish, Brunnenhauschen, and Morstein (mortar). Its southern exposure and the rock-rich subsoil create a microclimate with great ripening potential. The subsoil is characterized by limestone cliffs covered by only a thin layer of loam and clay. The high limestone content gives the wines a distinctive minerality and a clear, saline character.
