2018 Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, dry, 14.5% vol., Vasco Sassetti

100% Sangiovese. Since Vasco Sassetti is a traditional producer, each vintage has its own distinctive character. However, the scent of sour cherries, black fruits, leather, tobacco, and, in younger wines, slightly animal notes run like a common thread through all the wines. The wonderful flavor of the cocoa bean is evident on the finish. The wine is aged for two years in large oak barrels, after which it is bottled and is not released until the fourth year after the harvest.
