2017 Hattenheimer Nussbrunnen Riesling GG, dry, 12% vol., Balthasar Ress
The Nussbrunnen in Hattenheim, a location facing south-southeast, takes its name from a spring whose source can still be seen today and which was surrounded by walnut trees. The Nussbrunnen is located on the lower Hattenheimer Gewann, adjacent to the Wisselbrunnen, at a height of 87 m and is protected from cold north winds. The deep loess soil allows a lateral water supply due to waterproof layers in the subsoil and guarantees an excellent water balance even in dry years.
