2018 Banyuls Blanc Cornet and Cie, Cuvee, sweet, 16.5% vol., Abbe Rous

Where the Pyrenees plunge into the sea, the vineyards of Banyuls stretch for over 25 km along the coast, from Collioure to Cerbere and Port-Vendres. In these vineyards, on slate terraces where the grapes are harvested overripe, Banyuls Vin Doux Naturel (natural sweet wine) is produced, boasting rich and complex aromas. Its bouquet is intensely aromatic, with notes of Williams pears, acacia, and fresh hints of heather and white chocolate. On the palate, these aromas are complemented by a refreshing sweetness.
