2021 Cornet and Cie Banyuls Rimage, sweet, 16.5% vol., Abbe Rous

Sweet red wine made from 100% Grenache Noir. Intense red color, with aromas of ripe red fruits, predominantly blackcurrant. On the palate, notes of roasted coffee beans and a hint of spicy vanilla. Where the Pyrenees plunge into the sea, the vineyards of Banyuls stretch for 25 km along the coast, from Collioure to Cerbere and Port-Vendres. In these vineyards, on slate terraces where the grapes are harvested overripe, Banyuls Vin Doux Naturel (natural sweet wine) is produced, boasting rich and complex aromas. The aroma is described as delicate, racy, and fruity. Once opened, it can easily be stored for up to two months.
