1981 Indutiomarus Riesling, sweet, 9.5% ABV, Dr.Loosen, Magnum in HK
For many years, Ernst F. Loosen has been exploring the secrets of historical winemaking from the era when Rieslings from the Moselle and Rhine were among the most prized wines in the world. Now, with the Riesling Indutiomarus, he presents a spectacular wine in a highly traditional style. This 1981 vintage comes from the world-renowned Grand Cru vineyard Wehlener Sonnenuhr. It was bottled in 2008 after 27 years of barrel aging. This extended time in the barrel imbues the wonderfully mature wine with phenomenal freshness, complexity, and finesse. A Riesling that takes every connoisseur on a journey back to the early 19th century, revealing why Moselle Riesling was so incredibly sought after worldwide at that time. Only 100 magnums of this wine were produced. 98 Falstaff points. Loosen commissioned Markus Lupertz, one of Germany`s most important contemporary artists, to design the bottle. His work adorns 100 magnum bottles of the limited edition `INDUTIOMARUS Markus Lupertz 1981 Riesling exclusive`. Each magnum bottle comes with a 50x70 centimeter, signed original lithograph by the artist, presented in a handcrafted cherrywood box.
