DE - ORGANIC - 001 Amaranth is not a grain, but rather the fine seeds of a plant related to amaranth. It is primarily grown in southern Germany. Amaranth is rich in high-quality protein, iron, and calcium. Flour made from amaranth seeds makes baked goods moister and sweeter; it is used for cookies, pancakes, and waffles. It is an excellent complement to grains, legumes, nuts, and seeds; it contains twice as much iron and four times as much calcium as durum wheat. Puffed amaranth is wonderful in baked goods and muesli, as well as for breading.
