These pumpkin seeds come from the Styrian oil pumpkin, a special cultivated form in which the seeds grow without a woody coating. The seeds are used to produce oil and are a delicious snack when eaten straight. Together with nuts and dried fruit, pumpkin seeds enrich muesli mixes. In the spicy kitchen, they are often added to salads, soups and pasta dishes, often lightly roasted. Pumpkin seeds can be used to make a delicious pesto with pumpkin seeds with seed oil, spicy hard cheese and spices, as a spread or with pasta.
