Sardine al pomodoro piccante, seasoned sardines in tomato sauce, pollastrini
The freshly caught sardines from the Mediterranean are processed directly in the Pollastrini canning factory in the port of Anzio near Rome. They are gutted and prepared by hand, fried and then placed in the cans. A savory tomato sauce is served on top according to a family recipe. Pollastrini is the only canned sardine producer in Italy.
