
Sardine al pomodoro, sardines in tomato sauce, pollastrini
The Sepe family of fishermen developed the recipe for the tomato sauce for this sardine specialty themselves. It`s fruity and makes a whole meal out of a can of sardines, paired with fresh white bread. The fish come straight from the boats to the factory. Fishing is off the coast of Rome, near Anzio. Pollastrini has also been there since 1889.
