Black seed comes from the Latin named Nigella. The small black seeds release their aroma when crushing. A peppery pungency, slightly smoky, slightly bitter and altogether very aromatic. The black cumin, also known as onion seed, spices and decorates vegetable dishes, legumes, rice, fried potatoes, salads and poultry. The seeds are also used to sprinkle Turkish bread. In Germany, Nigella is known as a virgin in the countryside.
