Macis is the delicate orange seed coat that surrounds the nutmeg. Its aroma is finer and less intense than the nutmeg flavor and easier to dose. For subtle seasoning of fine soups, eggs, fish, seafood, potatoes, cheese, cabbage, pumpkin and dairy dishes. Wonderful for the Christmas bakery! If you crush the pieces of macis just before use, they will be able to fully develop their aroma.
