Pine honey, Aegean, dark, mild - spicy pine forest honey, portion jar, Feldt Apiary
In the sun-drenched pine forests of the Aegean, bees collect honeydew from the Aleppo pine and nectar from flowering wildflowers such as rockroses and umbellifers. This accompanying flora rounds off the mildly spicy aroma of this precious forest honey. To bring in this valuable harvest, many migratory beekeepers visit the Aegean islands with their bee colonies; in summer, for example, Thassos reaches the highest bee density in the world.
