Urid beans are very similar to green mung beans. They are also known as lentil beans and form the basis of numerous Indian dishes and side dishes called dal. Their skin is black and the inside is white. They take approximately 40 minutes to cook. Peeled white urid dal, sometimes mixed with rice, is used to make pancakes (dosa), flatbreads (papadums), or dumplings (idlis). These can be found under item numbers 16301 and 16640.
