A full-bodied yet elegant selection, for which only the best and ripest grapes were chosen. The expressive fruit and remarkable length are typical of Saar Rieslings of this quality. This wine is rich in complex and multifaceted floral aromas, paired with a fine mineral character. The Ockfener Bockstein vineyard lies in a side valley of the Saar River. It is a steep south-west facing slope, unobstructed by any other mountain to block the sun. The soil consists primarily of coarse, gravelly Devonian slate. The parcels of the estate, totaling 5 hectares, are mostly located in the center, the prime part of the slope. The wines grown in the Ockfener Bockstein are characterized by a distinctive minerality with a subtle spiciness.
