Birds Eye Chilies (chili peppers), red, whole

Birds Eye is a chili variety originating from Africa. It still grows wild in Ethiopia, among other places. The red-orange chili peppers have a translucent sheen and are used in spice mills. To those unaccustomed to spicy food, the freshly ground spice powder may seem extremely hot. Connoisseurs, however, appreciate the depth of flavor this African spice offers. It`s a particularly valuable addition to barbecues.
