2022 Chablis 1st Cru Montee de Tonnerre, dry, 12.5% vol., William Fevre
The absolute top site among the First Growths. Power, depth, superb minerality, and excellent aging potential characterize this wine. The Chablis terroir is distinguished by a high proportion of Kimmeridge chalk in varying forms, which imparts tremendous minerality and a steely acidity to the wines and is also responsible for their long aging potential. All the winery`s efforts are aimed at expressing the subtle variations of the best single vineyards. 40% of the First Growths are aged for 12 months in used barriques. William Fevre, with 15% of the 100 hectares, is the largest owner of Grand Cru vineyards in Chablis. 93+ Parker points.
