2022 Imperial Chardonnay QW, dry, 13% vol., Von Winning

The Imperiale is a selection from the best vineyards in Ruppertsberg and Deidesheim, aged in the finest casks. It exudes aromas of ripe lemons and apricots, with a subtle flinty note in the glass. And it tastes just as good: concentrated and structured, yet creamy with a saline texture. The interplay of fruit, oak, and minerality is simply brilliant. This is finesse a la Meursault, but with the rich aromatics of cooler-vineyard Californian Chardonnays.
